Aeroflow AF10E 1600w — The Vertical German Radiator

The Aeroflow AF10E is the only vertical-format model in the Aeroflow range stocked by Electric Radiator Shop, and it occupies a genuinely useful position for UK homeowners and developers. Its tall, narrow profile — 1250mm high and just 380mm wide — allows it to be positioned in spaces that would simply not accommodate a wider horizontal radiator: the narrow wall of a hallway between two doors, a small alcove, a chimney breast recess, or a section of wall flanked by fitted furniture. Despite its compact footprint, it delivers the same 1600w output as a much wider model, and does so using the same German fireclay heat plate technology that gives the entire Aeroflow range its exceptional heat quality and retention.

The AF10E can also be fitted with optional Aeroflow Castors to convert it to a freestanding unit — useful in rented properties where wall mounting is restricted, in conservatories, in garages, or in any space where flexibility of position is a priority. The castors are available separately and fit to the base of the unit without tools.

German Fireclay Heat Technology

Like all Aeroflow radiators, the AF10E is built around a refractory block assembly of non-porous fireclay heat plates, each with a coiled heating element embedded directly within the plate material. When electricity flows, the element brings the fireclay to temperature within minutes. The fireclay then stores that thermal energy and transfers it steadily to the radiator's outer casing — continuing to radiate warmth for well over 30 minutes after the element has cycled off. Cold air drawn up from floor level passes through the radiator's vertical fluted channels, creating a convection current that distributes warmth throughout the room. The combination of radiant and convected heat delivers an exceptionally even and comfortable room temperature, with none of the sharp heating cycles associated with basic panel heaters.

Precision Thermostat & Smart Controls

The built-in digital thermostat holds room temperature to within ±0.2°C, switching the elements on and off as needed — sometimes for only a minute at a time — to respond to small temperature changes before they become noticeable. The 7-day programming system allows different temperature settings for each part of every day, so the radiator heats the room exactly when required and steps back to a setback temperature at all other times. Open window detection senses a rapid temperature drop and pauses heating automatically until the temperature stabilises. Adaptive start learns how long your specific room takes to reach the set temperature and begins heating in advance of your scheduled times — so the room is always warm when you need it, not just when the programme switches on.

Built-in 2.4GHz WiFi connects directly to your home router with no external gateway required. The free Smart RM app gives full remote control and scheduling from any smartphone or tablet on Android or iOS. The AF10E is compatible with Amazon Alexa for voice control, enabling hands-free temperature adjustment from anywhere in the home. Whether monitoring heating from another room or checking that the radiator has switched off while you are away, the AF10E gives complete remote oversight at no additional subscription cost.

Specification & Installation

The AF10E is supplied in white (RAL 9010) as standard and can be ordered in any RAL colour on request — a useful option for designer or coloured interior schemes. It connects to a standard 13A supply and is supplied with a 1.5-metre power cable ready for a plug to be fitted or to be wired into a fused spur. Wall mounting brackets and fixings are included.
